What Optix collects, why, and who can see it.Updated Oct 30, 2026

Not investment advice

Optix is educational. Nothing on Optix is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security, option or event contract. You decide every trade, and you approve every real-money order.

1.What we collect

  • Your account: your name, email address and sign-in details, through Clerk, the sign-in service Optix uses.
  • What you do in Optix: your theses and chances, reviews, follows, match entries, Replay rounds and settings.
  • Accounts you connect: their positions, orders, fills and balances, and the keys or tokens that let Optix read them. Keys and tokens are stored encrypted.
  • The challenge: your entry, its simulated trades and the invite code you used.
  • Payments: if you pay for a plan, Stripe handles your card. Optix keeps the plan and its status, never your card number.
  • Technical details, such as your IP address and browser, which our servers and providers receive when you use Optix.
  • Cookies that keep you signed in and remember settings such as your theme and layout. No advertising cookies.

2.How we use it

  • To run Optix: keep your record, grade your trades, compute ratings and show your pages.
  • To read what you write: the text of a thesis may be sent to Anthropic’s Claude, which turns it into a claim Optix can price.
  • To keep accounts, the leaderboard and the challenge fair and secure.
  • To tell you about your account, your orders and the alerts you turn on.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

3.What others can see

Your name, handle, avatar, rating, level and public theses are visible to anyone, on your profile and the leaderboard. A thesis you write starts public; a trade Optix reads from your accounts starts private. You can switch each one on its review.

Your money stays private. Closed P&L and balances never show on your profile, and someone reading your public review sees results as a share of what you risked. A share card shows dollar amounts only if you choose to show them.

The challenge’s standings show each entrant’s handle, status and results.

4.Who processes it for us

Optix uses other companies to run the app. Each gets only what it needs:

  • Clerk: sign-in and accounts.
  • Supabase: the database that stores your data.
  • Vercel: hosting.
  • Anthropic: reading the text of your theses.
  • Stripe: payments for paid plans.
  • SnapTrade, Robinhood and Kalshi: the accounts you choose to connect.

Market data comes from Alpaca, Yahoo Finance and Kalshi. Optix asks them for prices, never for anything about you.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect people and Optix from fraud or harm.

5.How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. Records of challenge entries and of the actions Optix’s staff take are kept longer, so decisions can be checked later.

6.Your choices

  • Make a review public or private, on the review.
  • Download your record as a file, on Record.
  • Disconnect a brokerage or exchange on Accounts, and revoke an AI agent on Agents.
  • Change your name, email address and password in Settings.

7.Security

Broker keys and tokens are encrypted before they’re stored. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong password and two-step sign-in.

8.Children

Optix is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9.Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the date at the top changes, and we’ll tell you before a significant change applies.
